Dr. Girard is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who has been in practice in the state of Florida for the past 10 years. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Virginia and subsequently pursued his orthopedic training in Baltimore to include Johns Hopkins University, Union Memorial Hospital and Shock Trauma. Dr. Girard has extensive training and experience within the field of Orthopedics in sports medicine, joint replacement, arthroscopy, foot and ankle surgery and fracture care. He has special interests in arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, knee and ankle. He has also gained experience and incorporated arthroscopic procedures of the elbow and wrist in his practice.
For the past several years, Dr. Girard has been involved in the "Masters Experience in Arthroscopy" for the evaluation and performance of complex arthroscopic procedures of shoulder and knee conditions. In recent years, there have been technological improvements in instrumentation and techniques which have permitted the performance of arthroscopic surgery for complex conditions of the shoulder, knee and as well of the elbow and wrist which we have now incorporated into our practice.
Technological improvements in instrumentation and techniques have also affected the area of joint replacement (arthritis - click here). In keeping with these new technological advancements, Dr. Girard has been in the forefront of knee replacement surgery offering his patients the new quadriceps sparing minimally invasive knee replacement procedure (MIS).
Dr. Girard has a background in physical therapy which allows him to provide his patients with the unique advantages of postoperative physical therapy follow-up as well as the treatment of non-surgical orthopedic conditions.
